How can I stop from downloading porn?

So my brother who is 19 I'm 17 keeps downloading porn on my computer. His computer is being repaired so he is using mine. Now my computer is running so slow since he keeps downloading so much porn. It used to be fine before and fast now it's running so slow. What should I do? Should I just confront him?

how to stop downloading porn

There are many ways to block the porn websites..etc and technology levels increased the security system has been grown same beside it.

You can always put a parental lock on the computer, basically it lets you restrict which websites and programs the users on the computer can use, mean you can set only few websites that he can access. You need to make sure you're a administrator of your computer and you have a user account for your brother, which means limited account or guest account. This feature only works if your brother logs in using the user account, so don't leave your administrator account on or tell him the password.
In this way, you will get a every weekly report on the websites and programs he has been using......

Follow this way to enable it:

Firstly Logon to your Administrator account

1.Click on the bottom left-hand corner on start button.
2. Open 'Control Panel' from the sidebar
3.On Windows 7, you should see 'Users and Family safety' on the top right, If you're using a different windows version, search "Family safety" on the search bar and it should come up.
4. Once you're on the Family and safety, it should be simple from there onward.

try any other antivirus program, that also helps to prevent accessing the porn websites.

You need to know first why updates? what are updates? uses and benefits of updates?

get rid of updates

If you have installed a only beta or alpha version of OS the OS might of bugs in it so the developers need to fix them here you need to have some fixing tools and then the windows updates offers the solution here. If you have installed to the latest  updates.

Many of developers works on the operating system developments and user interface modules so the bug fixes helps to every one to work easy and get rid of errors.

Lets say if you have installed an new version of OS then you need to know here some problems you might face while installing certain programmes so the developers release the bug fixes in the form of service packs like 1, 2, 3.

If you have genuine version of operating system installed then its not a problem to get updates. If your software is not genuine after installing updates you will go get notifications to make genuine.

My computer says it is plugged in, not charging but the battery is not going down at all I don't know what's wrong with it, I had a problem when the cord would not charge it at all so my dad replaced the solders and it worked fine for about two months not it is broken and it is a Dell Latitude D630 if that helps any.

laptop not charging plugged in

May be the problem of the motherboard of the laptop or it might be related to software issue so you need to check thoroughly with the battery insert it in the other system where you will come to know where the problem.

One more thing need to observed here is the software issue if your software is not perfect it is not monitoring the battery so the battery levels in the operating system is not going down after usage.

if your dell laptop is in warranty contact the service centre if not in warranty don't do experiments with the Latitude  Once reinstall the OS and check after charging unplug the direct power.

Why can't I get a strong Wi-Fi connection in my room?

My room is about 50 feet away from the router, which I don't think is too far. I get weak connections on my laptop and my phone, while some of my friends bring laptops over and get good connection. Is this a problem with my router or my laptop's network adapter? I have a Belkin N450 if that helps. When I mean connection, I mean bars. I usually get 2-3 bars in my rooms while my friends can get 5 bars. And how does an airport work?

wifi signal good bad
It depends on the WIfi card you are using may be your wireless card is not an 'N' based chip that's why the difference.

May the wireless card got problem you may contact service centre for further details. After checking with your friends connection as it seems the problem of your wireless card only. There are about some types of wireless cards like b/g/n.

Once check whether you have installed the correct drivers or any firewall is limiting the access to the wireless networks. If you do not have correct drivers installed once go to official website of you main board manufacture and download them after installing once check with them.

some wireless cards with inbuilt will get defect on board, may be that is the one of yours, it occurs very rarely

How to set up a wired connection?

I currently have a wireless connection from my desktop computer to my router but I bought a cord so I can have a wired connection. I have no Idea how to establish a wired connection. I am running windows 7Please help :)

router lan wifi connect internet

That is so easy to connect a wired connection and just plugin the LAN wire which is from router if you have a dynamic IP address the router will assign the automatic IP to your PC.

If the IP not assigned once check with the router may be it have configured with static IP address and so give the appropriate IP to the system and check with ping if you got reply its working if not configure the IP address correctly.

If the LAN card is not displayed once check with the drivers whether they are installed or not if not installed the Internet cannot be connected so go to device manager and check whether there is any question marks if there some drivers may not be installed .

if the LAN connection from router was getting connected so you need to connect the ISP wire to your LAN port and login with the credentials. If connected you need to configure your router properly and refer Router manual

So I'm connected to my WiFi with internet access but I'm also connected to an unidentified network?

I'm worried that I may have installed a virus that cause me to connect to me a system unknowingly, is this true or what's going on here?

connected to two networks at a time

This is not possible to connect to a to two different networks at a time and there is no option in your network card and it might be showing this because of that virus that present in your system.

as you said that installed virus may be your system is infected with virus or trojans or you may have created an another connection or bridge connection is created once check in view all network connections

If your PC is infected then firstly scan with trojan remover and reset the windows policies, Internet policies...etc. and then Install a free antivirus programme, update virus definitions scan the whole computer and while scanning disconnect your PC from the Internet.

Once check how many Ethernet cards are connected to the Internet and through LAN or WIFI and if wifi, lan are connected using Internet to access check which one you are using? then disable the other one.

Can I use my second router as a repeater if it's hooked up to a PC with WiFi?

So if I have my Wireless router and it's hooked up to the modem on one end of the house, and I have another computer that gets 3 bars of WiFi, can I share the WiFi through the Ethernet port(I know you can) and connect it to my second router(wireless G BTW  to give off WiFi, if both routers have the same SSID, will they act as the same WiFi connection?

router, modem, connect wifi sharing

I think you cant connect to router and may you don't have the option to share. as your service provider is giving the line to the modem and you have shared it through the wireless and again it getting connected to a PC and you want to share the Internet from that PC to a wireless router through a Ethernet.

I tried many times by sharing the Internet connection from a PC, which having two Ethernet cards and at last I got the success. As you have the two network cards, the incoming is WiFi and wanna share Internet through Ethernet and that connects to a second WiFi router.

May be there is a option to connect. In windows xp we have the option to bridge connections and Internet Connection Sharing, this might depend on the operating system which you are using. You can try by going to network connection by both the networks and check help topics.

I think it is easy to know the process and you can research about this on the Internet.

If there is a trojan on my computer, can it go undetected by my Anti-Virus software?

I have KasperSky Anti-Virus.

trojan virus removal undetected

Virus or Trojans have many variants and some security programmes are up to date and some or not. The software vendor will update the definitions every time when they find any new variants and if the database of you antivirus was not updated in a regular then your antivirus shields will not aware of the new variants.

That is why there is a need of updating the virus definitions and some free editions will not have the in-depth virus signature files and there will be alot of difference in the free version and full version of software's.

Because I observed many free antivirus programmes that do not have full feature they don't detect the antivirus and then I installed a Trojan Remover trial version which I was benefited from it alot it detected alot threats where in as antivirus cannot.

So I come to know that a full version of antivirus works better than free version and so I suggest you to install the full version of antivirus it's better and so many links are available on the Internet and they say that are full version but one thing you need to they don't have official support from the software provider.

Shut down Windows while scanning and fixing for viruses?

Hey guys, I have recently scanning and fixing for viruses on my windows 8 Laptop. But i was forget and so I shut down my laptop while scanning & fixing for viruses. Now, I worry about it. I worry if my laptop or windows is damage or broke because of this. Do I need to reinstall my windows 8??? OR Is it okay and no problem and nothing worry about to my laptop and windows 8 because its normal and Safe??? Please help!!!

windows shutdown

No need to worry and no need for re-installation of windows because while scanning you shut down your PC what happens here is the task manager automatically closes the running programmes and when they are not closed they automatically forces to close and asks you the permission to whether force or not, wait the programme till responding.

If your computer wont start then you need to contact the system administrator and recovers the system to previous state. If you know about system restore you can go through it.

If your antivirus wont work perfectly or it not opens you need to uninstall it or use the previous setup to repair the antivirus. If everything perfect just run the whole system scan and fix the threats.

whenever any programme is running or doing any type of work you need to close the programmes or save them appropriately.

Computer not connecting to Internet?

All my other devices are working fine and are connected to the Internet. Any help?

not connected to internet

How you are going to connect to Internet in which way i.e. LAN, WiFi or through any other ways?

If you are connecting through LAN that internet cable came from ISP you will be automatically connected to Internet and they may provide you some credentials...etc check and connect to Internet. ISP providers may assign a manual IP address to the LAN card once check with that.

If you are connecting to Internet via Router once check with router settings and assign the correct IP address to your PC or router may be configured to connect to only specific devices change the router settings and If you are using the router for first time refer router manual.

There may the drivers of you LAN card or WiFi drivers may not be installed, install the correct version of drivers and download the drivers of your motherboard.

If you are connecting to LAN once check that LAN cable there may be fault in the cable try using other cable.

If you are perfect at all these things and still no Internet connection contact system administrator.

Google Chrome network error question?

Okay so I downloaded something, it was a .pif file, it just started to download out of nowhere. Seeing that file extension made me believe it was a virus of some sort since it was a link from omegle, but during the download I saw that chrome said "network error" next to the download.

Did the download go through? Is it on my computer? I'm running a system scan and nothing is being detected but I did some research and found that .pif files don't show on windows or something so I just cant find it and delete it and there was nothing in my downloads folder. I didn't see the name of the file either.

google chrome site error

That Pif file was not downloaded successfully, because the network error in the midway, so that was not a virus or trojan file, nothing to get worry.

But some websites are saying that "Invalid file associations could be the result of underlying issues within your Windows PC" so delete that file as soon as possible it reverts the programmes into older versions.

Better have good security software to scan all these things whenever required. If a antivirus is present in your system after downloading the file will get automatically scanned by the computer and where if it is a infected file and we cant access the file and it will be blocked by the antivirus.

but whenever you downloaded any file particularly exe better scan with antivirus and then access or execute it. Mainly virus approaches PC in form of exe files only.

How does avast free compare to Kaspersky or Norton anti virus?

people say avast is the best but is it ?

I am using Avast free edition since 2 years, am observed that its not the best antivirus because  if a virus found on PC or USB drive just it says that threat detected but it never stops saying that again and again, here the same infected file and the same path shows several times. Repeating of the same file name and path in the alerts section but it not removes or cleans that particular file, just says blocked. This Avast free edition not finds the virus hosts file because it does not have the full features. If you buy the full version it does have all the features.

If a threat found in compressed file, this avast shows the threat detected and totally blocks that compressed file being it used or getting it extracted and here we cannot access other files and loss of work happens here

I checked with other free versions of antivirus like avg, avira and some more, faced the same problem and then I realised that it is better to have a full version and so I tried Norton by downloading the trial version and checked for 30 days it was very nice better than avast

So I purchased Symantec Norton 1 year license and using it since 3 months and getting the updates, offers aswell. I prefer Norton 360 for you, it's the best.

Norton had a issue and now it removed itself from my laptop!?

OK so Norton had an error I don't remember it but I was told to download the removal tool it failed so now Norton is removed from my computer I really don't know what to do.... but before that I was working with HP support I restarted my computer but I cancelled the rebooting... :(

norton uninstall partial

Actually I wanna know why you have downloaded the removal tool, If you want to uninstall you can go to control panel and remove it, but in this case no need of removal tool. May be you are using the trial version Norton Antivirus.

After downloading the tool may be the removal tool run in background so that Norton antivirus may be removed. You can check whether the Norton uninstalled or not, go to control panel, add/remove programmes and check the list if it is present there Norton not uninstalled fully and check the directories or folders where it is installed after if the Norton folders are present there the Norton antivirus present in your system partially.

After uninstalling if you restart your computer automatically, the directories, registry entries are removed from you PC. Better install a free antivirus like Avast, Avira...etc They provide good antivirus programmes.

malware spyware laptop virus
Your pc is infected with malware and spyware, better once just find a good malware, spyware remover. After installation backup your important files and then update the virus definitions and scan the whole computer. I turst Norton 360 and if you wanna know the performance of the software, you can try the trial version of the software. Install it and get 30 days trial, I assure you it will remove.

If you can afford buy the Norton 360 and if you cant try the avast antivirus 2013 free edition, this is also a one of the good security software where I trusted it. They provide one year license aswell.

After cleaning your system once check in add/remove programmes that whether any unwanted programmes installed in your PC, if you find any uninstall them.

I keep losing memory space in Local Disk C:?

Whenever I turn my computer on, or even just leave it on, I lose memory space. It'll be 8 GB at one point, then slowly decrease to 6 GB of available free space (I didn't download anything new).

How can I stop this memory drain? What is causing it? I ran Avast, and there's no infected files. Is it a malware? How can I fix this problem?

low disk space

Might be There is a virus or trojans, Win32 form of virus is there in your PC and that's why you are losing the the memory space.

There are many reasons to loose the memory space and might be scheduled tasks runs on start-up  that tasks might be related to data multiplication.

Once check your system is not get cleaned for last 1 or 2 months and use Ccleaner, clean your whole system once. After cleaning, open run command type "temp" and a folder opens delete the data and again type "%temp%" delete the data  and you can include these folders in Ccleaner.

Once check windows folder propertied and check size after checking you will notice that appropriate size of that folder and check other sub folders aswell.

Install a Good Antivirus software may be your system in infected with Virus, Trojans...etc.

How do I set a password on WIFI from laptop?

How do I set a password on WIFI from my laptop? I have a windows 7.

wifi pass wpa/wps/wpa2

That is an easy way to set a password on WIFI, If you are using the router for the first time better refer router manual.

By default the router IP address is set by most of the companies is 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 and just enter the address in your browser and the login windows will open and username will be admin by default and for password leave blank.

If you want to set a login password you can find it in the tools section or account section. if you want to setup network passcode go for the wps/wpa/wpa2 key. When you are connecting to this router to access to Internet you need to enter this passcode to gain access through Wifi and change the login password to because some people may hack you router and wifi logon password.

Keep it note that insert special character, capital letters and small letters, numbers in the password, remember it aswell.

Why does my internet stop working?

Using a laptop, my internet works but it stops even the WIFI is still working its just the laptop I have to restart all the time...

internet not connected

There might be the problem in the WIFI router, here Router works and shows signals correctly but if you try to connect to Internet it can't.

Do one thing you need to hard reset the router, There will be a Reset button on the side of the router and find it and just reset with a Pin. It resets and configure your router once and set WIFI passkey and router login password and try to connect.

If the problem persists, you need to update the firmware of the router and once check whether the service provider providing the firmware for router or not. If you want to configure the router once refer router manual for detailed steps and procedure.

If they didn't provide the router firmware upgrade, once contact the service centre may some problem in the router.

Which virus cause "blue screen"error ?

Can you tell me which virus cause "blue screen"error. And how can I remove it (which antivirus can detect it) ?

windows ram memory fix

Blue Screen, not only caused due to virus, but also caused due to some hardware issues. There are such a millions of viruses on the world wide web, If you know so many viruses cause this error.

Some high level risks viruses and threats cause these type of blue screen errors, once blue screen is shown on the screen the error code will be shown and check about error code in Google  you will come to know what the issue was.

If the error details known correctly, you will come to what the necessary steps to be taken to clear that issue. If you have any hardware issues that might be also one for the problem to the error cause. If the RAM is not working fine, when you are installing the windows or OS that might redirects to the blue screen, at this point of time note down the error code, but you have to be very quick while copying the error code.

If the problem due to RAM, change the ram and run the same installation or programme again. In major cases RAM has the problem, once contact your system administrator  for further steps.

How do I copy a driver to another computer?

Hello, I got a Desktop and I turn it on and it says insert CD. I don't have it but I have the driver downloaded on my other computer. How do I copy it to the computer that's not working. Please explain this thoroughly as I am new to this. Also Any tips?

If you want to copy them, in my view there is no option to copy it and may be other third party software's available.

Try this Link

copy driver to another computer

Your Computer says insert CD, what type of CD is it asking it will show any label information or it will ask for the files like sys, inf...etc. Check correctly which type of file it is asking. If it is asking to insert appropriate operating system disc, checks all the necessary files in cd and grabs that file and if asking for a drivers cd, insert it and it copies the required files to run the drivers.

If your desktop is not showing any labels or anything and its just asking for the file, you need to know that what type of file it is asking if it is a DLL, sys, inf and any other they might be important to run that particular drivers. If you need what type of file and what it is useful for. just Google it you will come to know all the details.

But ensure that download the latest drivers and install them on your system and you will get the better performance of the system.

Always try to download the drivers from the official website because they don't contain any viruses and will have the latest fixes aswell. Update Bios for better performance but at your own risk and follow the instruction correctly before going to update.

I can Detect my WIFI but I can't connect to it?

I can detect my WIFI and I know the password but still I can't connect and on my previous operating system I can connect to any WIFI but just today I formatted it with windows xp sp3 and activated it I can't connect to a single WIFI connection with or without passwords please help this is gonna be a lot of trouble if my laptop can't connect to WIFI, you know if you are programming inside the school well nvm that just plsss help me!!

wifi not connected

After formatting and install of windows did you installed the drivers of the WIFI, first you need to check whether the drivers installed in your latptop. If already installed you need to check in device manager whether it showing the "?" or anything if everything al right, OK that fine the drivers are installed in your laptop.

Try downloading the latest drivers from your Laptop manufacturer's website and uninstall the previous drivers, install the latest drivers. If you don't about these things please contact system administrator or the laptop service centre.

One more option is there in the BIOS, in some bios version there is options like disable the USB ports, LAN cards and WIFI ports. Once check in your laptop bios whether they may be disabled, if that does enable them. If you don't know about the bios, don't try to change the settings that might cause big problem to the system performance. Contact the system administrator or refer the manual of Laptop.

If all the things above mentioned are perfect in you Laptop, try connecting the same WIFI to a different laptop or mobile, If that works your laptop seems to be get serviced visit service centre.
