Computer says I am connected to the internet but the proxy server isn't responding?

Are you really connected to proxy internet, once you need to check settings because proxy server that you configured in the proxy is not responding due to server issues in the server or in the routing method.

There may be several reasons that this kind of problem appears naturally, might be your PC is infected with virus and it may creating the kind of things that it is stopping to connect you to internet.

You need to check same proxy server in the other PC, once check with that proxy server settings if does matches might be problem in the first PC. Do a deep virus scan of the entire PC with antivirus. I prefer you to do scan with a Microsoft Security Essentials.

May be the Lan is not getting connected, check whether the LAN cable is connected properly and ping to the proxy address or server address. If not yet ping is done, you should check with the LAN.

If the above basic troubleshoots doesn't works contact network administrator.

WiFi is working but there's no internet connection?

hello,I'm using Toshiba laptop satellite L745. there's one problem, my WiFi status shows that my laptop connected to the wireless connection, but when I open the internet browsers, it says that I didn't connect to the internet.

wifi no internet connection

When you connect the Laptop to your WiFi network have you assign any IP address or the router has assigned any ip address, actually this depends on the router configuration. Once check router settings.

There may be limited access to number of devices, if you configured like this router will give access to some devices lets say 2 devices are connected to PC and if one of them is disconnected router will allow the other devices to use internet.

Once you need to check with the router whether the ISP line is connected to router or not? and if connected you may need to connect through dialer or PPPoE method. Once check with your ISP.

Some of the ISP's may does not support the Internet connection through router, they only provide the connectivity through switch here the Internet connects directly no authentication is required.

Once contact the ISP provider for better clarification.

So I'm connected to my WiFi with internet access but I'm also connected to an unidentified network?

I'm worried that I may have installed a virus that cause me to connect to me a system unknowingly, is this true or what's going on here?

connected to two networks at a time

This is not possible to connect to a to two different networks at a time and there is no option in your network card and it might be showing this because of that virus that present in your system.

as you said that installed virus may be your system is infected with virus or trojans or you may have created an another connection or bridge connection is created once check in view all network connections

If your PC is infected then firstly scan with trojan remover and reset the windows policies, Internet policies...etc. and then Install a free antivirus programme, update virus definitions scan the whole computer and while scanning disconnect your PC from the Internet.

Once check how many Ethernet cards are connected to the Internet and through LAN or WIFI and if wifi, lan are connected using Internet to access check which one you are using? then disable the other one.

Internet connected but can't access websites?

This happened just a few minutes ago. I have full internet connection but every time I use the internet. "The page cannot be displayed." The internet on my phone works fine. I tried resetting my computer and it didn't work. My wireless mouse stopped working when I reset it as well. I have windows 8. How can I fix it?

no internet connection

You have full internet connection, what does it mean exactly. May be you need to check thoroughly that the status of network icon in bottom right corner is showing the status connected or open my computer and check network connections , see the status.

There are two types of configurations like one is automatically assigning IP address and manual assign of IP address, if you are connected to a router IP address is automatically it assigns the IP address, these configuration are available on router. If you are not aware of them contact your system administrator. If you are connected to a switch or hub you must assign a IP address and DNS servers manually.

If your ISP is directly connected to your LAN, you need to check whether the ISP is providing automatic IP or manual IP. In some companies there are many software's that blocks the connectivity of Internet, you must use the proxy servers to get connected to Internet.

Some ISP's provide login page, dialers and other sort of things to get connected to Internet. If one of these problems may obstruct you getting connected to Internet. Contact your ISP for further details.

Connected to internet but with limited access?

this morning I tried to go on the internet but it wouldn't let me because it said I'm connected with limited access. the internet works on the other laptops in my house. I never deleted or installed anything to cause this. can someone please tell me how to fix this? if it helps I have windows 7 and restarting my computer doesn't help and I'm not typing our WiFi password wrong either. please help.

limited or no connectivity

You are connecting to Internet through WiFi, so once check whether the password you are typing is correct or not? Caps may be on. If the problem persists, chk with the router settings, enter the IP addres of the router in address bar of the browser and check the password, if it says again the limited access Router cannot assign the IP address to the PC because of settings configured, check whether the settings configured or you might have given the manual IP address if you have given change them to assign automatic IP address, in this case if you have configured router to give certain IP address range and DNS you need to enter manual IP address.

Many routers assign automatic IP address only, after changing the settings to automatic IP address, if you face same limited access problem, once check with the WiFi drivers whether they have installed correctly or not. Once remove the WiFi device from the device manager and restart your computer. Now insert the motherboard drivers CD and Install the WiFi drivers, problem should be solved now.

reset routers to factory settings
If all the above things done, if the router cannot assign the IP address you need to check with the Router settings. If you know thorough about the router settings that's well and Good or follow the router manual. You can simply hard reset the router with a PIN. So here Router restores all the settings...etc to factory settings.

Now just enter the Router IP address in address bar of the browser, username - admin, leave password blank and after change the router's Login password. Don't remember to set a password to WiFi also. After done with all these things you are able to connect to Internet.

Virus or malware infection?

I've used Spybot, Malwarebytes, and other security softwares, still getting popups It's not even show up when I run these programs. What else can I do? Ocassionally a new tab opens to some advertising site, also in the bottom corner of each browser, a bout of pop-ups appear, like "Speed up repair PC and random ads on the other corner".

system infected with malware virus trojans
You have used all the security softwares as they are malware softwares, My suggestion is just uninstall all the security softwares and once go through repair windows by inserting xp bootable CD or which ever OS you are using. Just disconnect from the internet before reparing OS. After repairing go to control panel uninstall the unknown or unused or unnecessary programmes and restart your computer, reset the browsers settings to default. Once reset completed connect your system to the Internet, just download the Norton Internet security trial version or if you can afford buy one. After installing update virus definitions. Disconnect your computer from internet and scan your whole computer, it compulsory detects threats clean them and restart your computer. That's it your system is clean.

Norton Internet Security provides excellent protection by these type of malwares, trojans, viruses...etc. Some programmes are automatically installed by few websites like adware softwares, malwares or toolbars...etc.

Better aware of all these things before browsing an unknown site or a malware site. Have a good browsers like Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox. Allow them to Auto update browsers beacuse every update has bug fixes, add on features...etc

Wireless internet slow on my desktop but not my laptop?

I have a custom built gaming pc and a asus u52f note book with a built in wireless adaptor, the pc has a TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 Dual Band Wireless N900 PCI Express Adapter,2.4GHz 450Mbps/5Ghz 450Mbps, IEEE 802.1a/b/g/n,WEP, WPA/WPA2 built in it, but yet the desktop is way slower and hooking it up with wire isnt an option, I have a pretty fair speed internet connection and great wireless router, what is a possible reason its like this and is there a way to boost the speed of my desktop they both run windows 7

internet connection slow in desktop

Your Internet speed is slow when connected to a Desktop and it is fast when connected to Laptop from the same router, It may Possible fault in the router you might need to reset the router, refer the router manual for the instructions.

After resetting the router if the same problem persists, may be the Lan connection speed is limited or the second connection to the WLAN is limited, you need to check the router settings and make some corrections.

If you are connecting the desktop throug LAN, there might be virus or trojans in the desktop, if any threats were there internet connection speed may reduced. If any ongoing downloads are there like torrent or any software updates check them in clear. Install a good Internet Security like Norton...etc.

Connect Internet to your Notebook using LAN and check for the Internet speed, you will come to know where the problem is desktop or Notebook.

Some routers have default settings to reduce the speed, Refer the router manual.

My Internet Connection is being limited by others?

I dont know the exact term for it, but my brother told me it's possible to limit other WIFI user's connection speed.

For my case, I am staying at a rented room for the 2nd year and the 1st year, the internet connection was very smooth. But ever since the 2nd year, my internet connection becomes really bad. So i am wondering if the new housemates are actually limiting my internet connection or not. And this new housemates are just replacing the housemates that left so basically no additional wifi users. Please tell me if my new housemates are limiting my internet and how to get it back if he is doing it.

limited or no connectivity

May be the other users are limiting the internet connection on your device. There is a option to limit the users, speed, duration..etc and this is possible with the routers. Quality of Service (qos) is an option available in router to keep certain limit to the users.

If want to know whether they limited you in the internet connection, let you connect the same wifi access to another device. Check for the internet speed and usage in that device as well.

If the same things happens the usage was limited, if not the usage or limit is only switched on by them for you.

Better avoid these type of connections, be a admin for the router it is safe for you and dont reveal usernames and passwords with anyone.
