Shut down Windows while scanning and fixing for viruses?

Hey guys, I have recently scanning and fixing for viruses on my windows 8 Laptop. But i was forget and so I shut down my laptop while scanning & fixing for viruses. Now, I worry about it. I worry if my laptop or windows is damage or broke because of this. Do I need to reinstall my windows 8??? OR Is it okay and no problem and nothing worry about to my laptop and windows 8 because its normal and Safe??? Please help!!!

windows shutdown

No need to worry and no need for re-installation of windows because while scanning you shut down your PC what happens here is the task manager automatically closes the running programmes and when they are not closed they automatically forces to close and asks you the permission to whether force or not, wait the programme till responding.

If your computer wont start then you need to contact the system administrator and recovers the system to previous state. If you know about system restore you can go through it.

If your antivirus wont work perfectly or it not opens you need to uninstall it or use the previous setup to repair the antivirus. If everything perfect just run the whole system scan and fix the threats.

whenever any programme is running or doing any type of work you need to close the programmes or save them appropriately.

Computer not connecting to Internet?

All my other devices are working fine and are connected to the Internet. Any help?

not connected to internet

How you are going to connect to Internet in which way i.e. LAN, WiFi or through any other ways?

If you are connecting through LAN that internet cable came from ISP you will be automatically connected to Internet and they may provide you some credentials...etc check and connect to Internet. ISP providers may assign a manual IP address to the LAN card once check with that.

If you are connecting to Internet via Router once check with router settings and assign the correct IP address to your PC or router may be configured to connect to only specific devices change the router settings and If you are using the router for first time refer router manual.

There may the drivers of you LAN card or WiFi drivers may not be installed, install the correct version of drivers and download the drivers of your motherboard.

If you are connecting to LAN once check that LAN cable there may be fault in the cable try using other cable.

If you are perfect at all these things and still no Internet connection contact system administrator.

Google Chrome network error question?

Okay so I downloaded something, it was a .pif file, it just started to download out of nowhere. Seeing that file extension made me believe it was a virus of some sort since it was a link from omegle, but during the download I saw that chrome said "network error" next to the download.

Did the download go through? Is it on my computer? I'm running a system scan and nothing is being detected but I did some research and found that .pif files don't show on windows or something so I just cant find it and delete it and there was nothing in my downloads folder. I didn't see the name of the file either.

google chrome site error

That Pif file was not downloaded successfully, because the network error in the midway, so that was not a virus or trojan file, nothing to get worry.

But some websites are saying that "Invalid file associations could be the result of underlying issues within your Windows PC" so delete that file as soon as possible it reverts the programmes into older versions.

Better have good security software to scan all these things whenever required. If a antivirus is present in your system after downloading the file will get automatically scanned by the computer and where if it is a infected file and we cant access the file and it will be blocked by the antivirus.

but whenever you downloaded any file particularly exe better scan with antivirus and then access or execute it. Mainly virus approaches PC in form of exe files only.

My WiFi won't connect to any mobile devices?

My router and WiFi used to work fine. But one day it just quit connecting to my iPod and other family members in my house couldn't connect on their phone. When I tap it on my iPod, it instantly pop-up "Cannot join network" We called our service provider and said all of our connections were fine, and they even reset them. It still wouldn't connect to my iPod. What is causing this, and how can I fix it?

wifi router not access

This is the problem of the WiFi router may be it not connected to your devices and try connecting other devices like smartphone, PC...etc. If not connected same pop-up appears it means that the problem is related to the router only.

Either router may be locked and should enabled the qos service it means that router can connect or give access to the certain devices only where in router settings you need to enter the details of you max address of the device and if you mention these address in the router configuration so it will give access to the Internet that might be one of the problem where your iPod not get connected to the WiFi router.

If you know how to configure router, change the settings or follow the manual of the router. If the problem persists contact the service centre of the Router.

How does avast free compare to Kaspersky or Norton anti virus?

people say avast is the best but is it ?

I am using Avast free edition since 2 years, am observed that its not the best antivirus because  if a virus found on PC or USB drive just it says that threat detected but it never stops saying that again and again, here the same infected file and the same path shows several times. Repeating of the same file name and path in the alerts section but it not removes or cleans that particular file, just says blocked. This Avast free edition not finds the virus hosts file because it does not have the full features. If you buy the full version it does have all the features.

If a threat found in compressed file, this avast shows the threat detected and totally blocks that compressed file being it used or getting it extracted and here we cannot access other files and loss of work happens here

I checked with other free versions of antivirus like avg, avira and some more, faced the same problem and then I realised that it is better to have a full version and so I tried Norton by downloading the trial version and checked for 30 days it was very nice better than avast

So I purchased Symantec Norton 1 year license and using it since 3 months and getting the updates, offers aswell. I prefer Norton 360 for you, it's the best.

How can upgrade my desktop?

I bought a gaming desktop from bestbuy and it was not what I expected. What and how can I upgrade my desktop so it has a higher FPS

build gaming pc

Actually Gaming computer does not expected to be and if you want to play any specific game or a fan of a game, goto that game official site and once check GPU's and CPU's supported by that game. They provide the details of GPU's which supported by that specific game.

Now a days multi GPU support is available, go for that and check whether games supported by these multi GPU's and want to upgrade? if you want to upgrade what type of upgrade you want? whether ram or processor..etc.

If you want better gpu's and cpu's go for AMD and ATI, beacuse I used them for about 4 years and it suported most games and which the performance is also like a dual core processor (actually it is a single core) where I enjoyed alot on my PC.

Higher FPS, which means GPU plays the main role here and choose from the theme of games like adventure, action, racing, strategy..etc and so I can help you deciding the gaming PC with good configuration.

Norton had a issue and now it removed itself from my laptop!?

OK so Norton had an error I don't remember it but I was told to download the removal tool it failed so now Norton is removed from my computer I really don't know what to do.... but before that I was working with HP support I restarted my computer but I cancelled the rebooting... :(

norton uninstall partial

Actually I wanna know why you have downloaded the removal tool, If you want to uninstall you can go to control panel and remove it, but in this case no need of removal tool. May be you are using the trial version Norton Antivirus.

After downloading the tool may be the removal tool run in background so that Norton antivirus may be removed. You can check whether the Norton uninstalled or not, go to control panel, add/remove programmes and check the list if it is present there Norton not uninstalled fully and check the directories or folders where it is installed after if the Norton folders are present there the Norton antivirus present in your system partially.

After uninstalling if you restart your computer automatically, the directories, registry entries are removed from you PC. Better install a free antivirus like Avast, Avira...etc They provide good antivirus programmes.

malware spyware laptop virus
Your pc is infected with malware and spyware, better once just find a good malware, spyware remover. After installation backup your important files and then update the virus definitions and scan the whole computer. I turst Norton 360 and if you wanna know the performance of the software, you can try the trial version of the software. Install it and get 30 days trial, I assure you it will remove.

If you can afford buy the Norton 360 and if you cant try the avast antivirus 2013 free edition, this is also a one of the good security software where I trusted it. They provide one year license aswell.

After cleaning your system once check in add/remove programmes that whether any unwanted programmes installed in your PC, if you find any uninstall them.

I keep losing memory space in Local Disk C:?

Whenever I turn my computer on, or even just leave it on, I lose memory space. It'll be 8 GB at one point, then slowly decrease to 6 GB of available free space (I didn't download anything new).

How can I stop this memory drain? What is causing it? I ran Avast, and there's no infected files. Is it a malware? How can I fix this problem?

low disk space

Might be There is a virus or trojans, Win32 form of virus is there in your PC and that's why you are losing the the memory space.

There are many reasons to loose the memory space and might be scheduled tasks runs on start-up  that tasks might be related to data multiplication.

Once check your system is not get cleaned for last 1 or 2 months and use Ccleaner, clean your whole system once. After cleaning, open run command type "temp" and a folder opens delete the data and again type "%temp%" delete the data  and you can include these folders in Ccleaner.

Once check windows folder propertied and check size after checking you will notice that appropriate size of that folder and check other sub folders aswell.

Install a Good Antivirus software may be your system in infected with Virus, Trojans...etc.
